Duct Sealing

Whether in the attic or in the crawlspace, Arkansas is hard on ductwork. Plumbers alone break loose about half of the ductwork when they’re crawling around in there. Additionally, animals, humidity, and poorly constructed systems make keeping air inside the ducts a battle. We see loose or broken duct pipes in about 1/4 of the old homes we go into, but almost all homes start out with at least 30%-40% leakage. Luckily, fixing leaks is not complicated, it is just hard to get to sometimes. Most gaps or cracks can be taken care of with some screws, some tape, and some mastic. When we do a duct blaster test, we can be sure we’ve gotten the system sealed sufficiently.
