Air Sealing

This is an essential step to providing your home with the greatest increase in comfort and energy savings. Wind hitting the side of your house as well as the return vent on your AC unit will cause negative pressures within the home. That negative pressure allows air from attics, crawl spaces, and wall cavities to enter into living space. The air brought in is dirty as it has been filtered through insulation, dust, and other building materials. We address this by sealing areas where air has the ability to enter. In attics, top plates and electrical penetrations get caulked or foamed. In crawl spaces, plumbing penetrations and rim joists are sealed.
